This sober home truly provides safety and structure for people who have no idea what a healthy and happy life in recovery looks like. I was in Jon Brown’s house 2+ years ago, and boy was I a troublemaker, but he showed me grace and compassion. Truly a sober living with excellent standards.

It was a God shot getting sent information about the womens house when I was in treatment. I said yes and haven’t looked back. The womens sober living was such a stable environment for me to build my foundation here in austin. I knew no one moved from a different state and started on step one with my journey . This is where my magic happened.

I lived at this home for a little over a year and a half from 2017-2018. Jon is an amazing individual that takes time and genuinely cares about the recovery of his residents. He sets a high accountability standard for all of his residents to properly prepare us, requires attendance of weekly in house and out house meetings to maintain your programs integrity as well as random UA testing. I like to think that if it wasn't for this home, the brotherly bond I developed with my housemates and Jon Brown I wouldn't be here today.

So grateful for NASL. They provided a clean, beautiful, safe place for me to live where I had structure and grew in my program.

It has been one of my best experiences living in this house as far as sober living homes have gone. Being honest is something very new for me and being this is my sixth sober home to be a part of, I can tell you learning to live life on life's terms and stay sober is not the most delightful task. I am very grateful for an owner of the houses who cares about me staying sober and to hear me while being patient me during learning process. I was told several times, that I was never expected to walk into sober living with my life together and I trust me I didn't. It took pissing some people of and an owner with management who cared enough to guide me and show me how to live well and peacefully among others. It was no easy task coming from a 30 year addiction of meth and heroin along with living a great portion of that in complete solitude. I have a long way to go and I am very grateful for John and all of the management that gently aided me along my recovery and show me how to live one day at a time. I move out in a short period and look forward to the new life ahead, sober.

Our community at North Austin Sober Living had an incredible holiday party!

Santa Clause paid us a visit and we enjoyed some delicious homemade food. We were also graced with the company of our sober friends this delightful season, so many came out that it was hard to fit them all into one photo-op session– but here’s where you can find your favorite person in attendance (hint: they’re wearing green).

It has truly been such joy hosting these festivities for fellow addicts who want nothing more than peace on Earth…and maybe just enough cheer now and again while celebrating life without substances is really what makes Christmas worth remembering. Happy Holidays from our community to yours!

Recovery in the Park!

This Recovery in the Park event was one I’ll never forget.

The grounds were decorated with banners and signs welcoming those who have lost loved ones to addiction or suicide; there was free food supplied by vendors, art pieces from local artists, as well a live band performing for all participants!

The mood felt like an outdoor party celebrating life rather than mourning death because everyone was so happy. Things went extremely well even though the event was hosted inside this year!

Annual Crawfish Party

The annual sober crawfish party was a huge success!

We had so much fun and the food, drink, music selection were all top notch. It’s not too often you can enjoy yourself while being guaranteed an awesome time with your friends in recovery from drugs or alcohol.

This is exactly what happened at our latest get together!

Our annual sober crawfish party was a success!

Over the years, we’ve hosted many events with friends and family. This time around there were so many more people that showed up – including some who are new faces in town.

It felt great sharing an evening full of good food as well as catching up on everyone’s lives since last seeing one another!
